Profile builds business

<p>Independent publisher Profile Books has grown its sales by 3% to &#163;2.4m during the year to end-March, helped in part by the acquisition of HarperCollins business list.

Profile raised &#163;196,671 by issuing new shares to fund the purchase. Andrew Franklin, publisher and m.d., said: "Some of the acquired titles have been extraordinarily strong, but others have done less." Among the "superb backlist classics" were "What Management Is" by Joan Magretta and "In Search of Excellence" by Tom Peters and Robert Waterman.
