Nicci French, Karin Slaughter and Sharon Bolton will all be taking part in a online crime fiction festival hosted on Facebook this week.
The Dead Good Fiction Festival has been put together by Dead Good Books, Penguin Random House’s crime community.
It is in response to: “the frustration conveyed by the community surrounding the location of offline events."
The Dead Good Fiction Festival will begin with writing duo Nicci French taking over the Dead Good Facebook page today.
Bolton will take over tomorrow (29th May), with Slaughter hosting on the last day of the festival on Friday (30th May).
Each of the authors will talk about their thoughts and opinions on the crime genre, offer advice to writers, and answer questions. There will also be prizes on offer to readers.
In addition there will be a guest-edited festival newsletter from author Simon Kernick, a Dead Good Who Dunnit crime mystery game, where clues are revealed online each day, and a 33%-discount offer on Bolton’s Lacey Flint series (Bantam Press) and Slaughter’s digital short stories (Cornerstone Digital) on their festival days.
The festival has a combined reach of over 240,000 through the Dead Good channels and the attending authors' Facebook pages, and Penguin Random House said 145,000 Facebook users have been reached in the run-up to the festival.
