Penguin Random House Children’s has appointed Vanessa Jedrej (née Godden) to the newly created role of marketing director.
In her new role, Jedrej will lead marketing campaigns for Ladybird, Puffin and Penguin Random House Children’s authors and entertainment brands, and her remit will cover both the UK and international marketing teams. She will report to creative director Graham Sim.
Jedrej has for the past nine months held the position of acting head of marketing, where she worked on campaigns for brands such as Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid, winning the marketing campaign of the year award from the Book Marketing Society in both 2012 and 2013.
“I am thrilled to be appointed as marketing director at Penguin Random House Children’s,” said Jedrej. “I am looking forward to directing our enormously creative and ground-breaking marketing team in a playful and strategic environment that enables growth for our inspirational children¹s authors and brands.”
Sim added: “This is an important new appointment for Penguin Random House Children's UK. Vanessa has played a key role in our success and growth over the last few years, both in creating and directing campaigns - from The Diary of a Wimpy Kid, to Rick Riordan to Roald Dahl. She is exceptionally good at appealing to our young audiences with imaginative campaigns that engage them. I feel very excited to be working with her as we lead Penguin Random House Children's into fresh adventures and achieve new triumphs."
