Penguin Random House has acquired Livia’s Kitchen, a new cookery book by London-based wellness entrepreneur Olivia Wollenberg containing recipes made entirely from natural ingredients.
The deal for UK and Commonwealth rights was struck by Lizzy Gray, publishing director at Ebury Press, in a “hotly contested” auction from Cathryn Summerhayes at WME.
Livia’s Kitchen is filled with over 100 “quick, simple and indulgent puddings, treats and cakes”, all made without refined sugar. It publishes under Ebury Press on 5th May 2016.
The title is endorsed by Ella Woodward, who said: “Olivia is the best baker I’ve ever met – her crumbles, bars, cakes and treats are just incredible. She’s really showing the world that eating well doesn’t mean depriving yourself and that healthy desserts can be even more delicious than regular ones!”
Wollenberg set up Livia’s Kitchen in 2014, where she combined her passion for baking and nutrition by creating dishes for those looking for healthier sweet options to enjoy. Her crumbles are now sold at Selfridges & Co., Planet Organic, Daylesford and Harvey Nichols.
“The Livia’s Kitchen cookbook will allow me to spread my love of sweet treats and baking to people all over the world," said Wollenberg. "This book will show people that baking with natural ingredients is quick, easy and most importantly delicious. To have this book published by Ebury Press is still something I can’t quite believe. They publish some of my favourite cookbook authors out there, and the fact that they are Mary Berry’s publisher show that they know everything there is to know about baking.”
