PPC's mentoring scheme returns for fifth year

The Publishers’ Publicity Circle (PPC) has announced the return of its mentoring scheme for the fifth year, open to publicists at all levels.

Devised by the PPC committee, it aims to create a platform giving publicists a chance to learn from some of the best in the business on everything from campaign planning to career and personal development.

The PPC has asked mentors from across the industry to stay on for another year and help guide a new group of mentees through the year ahead.

Successful applicants will be matched with their mentor by the end of December, ready to start the scheme in January 2021.

Stephanie Melrose, PPC chair, said: “The ways in which our industry and ways of working have been challenged in this most unprecedented of years, have again underlined what brilliantly creative, tenacious and powerful communicators publicists are; and how much we – as well as campaigns, books and authors – can benefit from our being a truly collaborative network. The mentoring scheme has become a cornerstone of the PPC aim to promote, celebrate and further the careers of publicists, and provides a valuable opportunity for both mentees and mentors to develop their skills.

“I am hugely grateful to all those who have taken part this year and flourished in the scheme amid significant challenges, and am looking forward to seeing more industry colleagues be empowered to take on mentee and mentor roles as we look together to the coming year.”

Further information about the scheme and instructions on how to apply can be found on the PPC website. All applicants must be PPC members and the deadline is 5.30 p.m. on 4th December.
