PLR payout increase despite fall in library loans


The number of books borrowed from public libraries in the UK is falling by 20 million titles a year, according to new statistics released with the distribution of Public Lending Right (PLR) funds.</p><p>

About 460 million books were loaned in 2000, compared with 480 million in 1999 and 501 million in 1998. PLR registrar Jim Parker described the reduction as
