L-R Lucy Hale, Jamie Hodder-Williams, Carolyn Mays and Kerry Hood were among the guests at the combined John Murray 250th and Hodder & Stoughton 150th anniversary party on Wednesday 20th June.


On Tuesday 19th June, Adele Parks opened Guildford’s first Little Free Library, an initiative currently running in over 70 countries. 


HarperCollins marked the 95th birthday of author and illustrator Judith Kerr with a cocktail party at the Savoy Hotel in London on Monday 18th June.

On Monday 18th June, author Isabel Thomas far left and illustrator Marianna Madriz second left signed copies of their Little Guides to Great Lives series at Tales on Moon Lane, as part of Independent Bookshop Week celebrations. They are pictured alongside Leah Chin, Kathlyn Crocker and Julia Taylor.


Author Alex Preston swam the Hellespont to raise money for fellow writer Charles Sprawson’s care fees. Vintage will also be reissuing Sprawson’s "cult swimming classic" Haunts of the Black Masseur as part of the same fundraising initiative.


Five Leaves Bookshop in Nottingham resurrected Feminist Book Fortnight after 35 years, to mark the centenary of women in the UK getting the vote. Almost 50 independent bookshops around the country are taking part in the initiative, which runs from 16th-30th June.


Nobrow Press teamed up with the East London Comic Arts Festival on an exhibition celebrating the new Nobrow 10 magazine. "Studio Dreams" exhibits at SPACE, east London and opened for a private viewing on Wednesday 13th June.
