Foyles Charing Cross celebrated the publication of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with a midnight launch party on Saturday 30th July, where master of ceremonies Mark Campbell hosted a Harry Potter quiz.
Refreshments at the Foyles party included Harry Potter-themed cupcakes.
Meanwhile, Waterstones Piccadilly also held a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child party, attended by many eager fans who dressed up in character for the occasion.
Waterstones Piccadilly was transformed for the party, with decorations including a magical sweet shop.
25-year-old high school teacher Alex Harper came to the party at Waterstones Piccadilly dressed as wizard Albus Dumbledore.

Zadie Smith read from her upcoming novel Swing Time at a preview event held at the Prince Albert pub in Camden on Thursday 4th August.
Smith signed proof copies of the book for fans at the event.
