Frances Hardinge was named the winner of the Costa Book of the Year for her YA novel The Lie Tree (Macmillan Children's Books) at an awards ceremony at Quaglino’s in central London on Tuesday 26th January.

 

Pan Macmillan held a party to celebrate its women's fiction list at the OXO Tower in London on Thursday 28th January.

 

Trisha Jackson, Pan Macmillan editorial director, literary agent Lizzy Kremer, Pan Macmillan m.d. Anthony Forbes-Watson and Pan Macmillan publisher Jeremy Trevethan were among those raising a glass at Pan Macmillan's women fiction party.

 

It was the launch of Rebecca Mackenzie's début, In a Land of Paper Gods (Tinder Press), at Waterstones in Islington on Monday 25th January.

 

Plenty of refreshments were on hand at the In a Land of Paper Gods launch.

 

South African bookshop chain Exclusive Books held a party for the opening of its redesigned flagship store in Johannesburg on Thursday 28th January.

 

A DJ at the decks during the official opening of the store, which is also home to a Michelin-star restaurant.
