Catherine Faulkner illustrated the windows of Kew Bookshop and Mr B's Emporium in Bath to celebrate the shortlisting of Thor Hanson's Buzz (Icon Books) for this year's Independent Bookshop Week Awards.


The winners of this year's Society of Authors’ Awards were revealed at Southwark Cathedral. Pictured L-R are the Betty Trask Prize and Award winners: Sophie Mackintosh, Daisy Lafarge, Ruqaya Izzidien, James Clarke, Imogen Hermes Gowar, Samuel Fisher and Rebecca Ley.


Alison Baverstock centre celebrated the launch of the sixth edition of How To Market Books (Routledge) alongside Nick Hewer and Vivienne Wordley at the Buckingham Literary Festival.


Robin Robertson became the first Scot to win the £25,000 Walter Scott Prize for The Long Take (Picador). The award was announced at the Baillie Gifford Borders Book Festival, which saw its 2019 visitor attendance up 18% on last year.


The Rt Hon Dame Margaret Hodge DBE MP hosted a reception at the Houses of Parliament in order to showcase the impact of this year’s World Book Day.
