Picador to publish new Bret Easton Ellis

<p>Picador will publish Bret Easton Ellis&rsquo;s seventh novel <em>Imperial Bedrooms</em> in the UK next July.</p><p>The novel is a sequel to his debut <em>Less than Zero</em>, published when Ellis was just 21, which followed the stories of a student, Clay, who comes home for the Christmas holidays from his Eastern college to seamy, drug-ridden, 1980s Los Angeles. <em>Imperial Bedrooms</em> is set 25 years later.</p><p>Picador &ndash; Ellis&rsquo;s long-term UK publisher - has UK and Commonwealth rights in the novel. Knopf is publishing in the US next May, with ICM in New York selling foreign rights at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October.</p><p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s very exciting,&rdquo; said Picador publisher Paul Baggaley. &ldquo;We&rsquo;ll publish next summer &ndash; it&rsquo;s still being edited in America.&rdquo;</p>
