Pan Macmillan has made Jon Ronson's The Men Who Stare At Goats available via digital platform Exact Editions (http://www.exacteditions.com" target="_blank" title="www.exacteditions.com">www.exacteditions.com">www.exacteditions.com). The book is the first to be chosen for Jonathan Ross' new Twitter book club, and Pan Mac will offer free access to the text for the period of the Twitter discussion, from 5-6pm on Sunday (24th May).
It is believed to be the first instance a trade publisher has made a title freely available to facilitate a live online discussion. The site will enable Twitterers to reference their Tweets to individual page links online.
Aside from the free Sunday hour, Exact Editions will offer full online access to the title on a subscription basis for £4.99.
Pan Macmillan digital director Sara Lloyd said: "Jonathan Ross made the sudden announcement that The Men Who Stare at Goats was to be his first book club pick just a few days ago. Since then there has been great interest in the title and we are thrilled to be able to offer it as a digital version through the Exact Editions platform."
