Phaidon Press expands cookery team

Phaidon Press has announced two new senior editorial appointments, following on from the news of Jacky Klein joining as commissioning editor for art.

Emily Takoudes will join Phaidon as executive commissioning editor for food, based in New York. Meanwhile, Ellie Smith joins as commissioning editor for food at Phaidon's London office.

Takoudes arrives from Clarkson Potter, where she was senior editor, working on cookbooks and food narratives. She has previously been at Ecco/HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster and Little, Brown.

Smith comes from Pan Macmillan, where she was senior editor and art director. Previously, she worked for Hardie Grant in Australia.
