Penguin Ventures has collaborated with Le Méridien Piccadilly Hotel to launch an official Peter Rabbit Afternoon Tea in an exclusive deal brokered by Silvergate Media.
Penguin Ventures developed the concept on behalf of Beatrix Potter’s original publisher, Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd, in collaboration with the hotel. Launching in April 2019, The Peter Rabbit Afternoon Tea will run for six months at Le Méridien Piccadilly Hotel in London.
Izzy Richardson, head of brand at Penguin Ventures said: “It has been a pleasure to work in partnership with Le Méridien Piccadilly, and the team there have created an absolutely beautiful and delicious offering. The Peter Rabbit Afternoon Tea is so clearly inspired by Beatrix Potter’s best-loved Tale - guests are in for a real treat.”
Costing £35 for an adult’s afternoon tea, and £25 for a children’s, the menu includes dishes such as Flower-Pot Hideout - a chamomile mousse inside a chocolate pot - and Mr McGregor’s Garden - a veg-filled mini baguette.
Visitors will also receive Peter Rabbit merchandise including a bespoke Le Méridien Piccadilly Peter Rabbit book, purse, and a drawstring bag. Guests can also partake in themed activities and visit dedicated areas such as the kids-only book den, which will offer an array of novels.
Created by author and illustrator Beatrix Potter in 1902, The Tale of Peter Rabbit has sold in excess of 45 million copies globally. The story has never been out of print since it was first published in 1902.
