Penguin unveils classics list for Chinese venture

<p>On the eve of the 2006 Beijing International Book Fair, Penguin has unveiled its first ever Chinese language publishing venture, joining forces with Chongqing Publishing Group to release Penguin Classics in China.

The first batch of 10 titles are out in November, with 15 more to follow in May 2007 as part of a five year publishing programme. The books will be in Penguin's iconic black classics format with introductions by "the best experts in China," said the chairman of the Chongqing Publishing Group Luo Xiaowei at a press conference in Beijing.
