Penguin named Walpole British Brand of the Year

Penguin has been named British Brand of the Year at the annual Walpole British Excellence Awards.

Penguin beat Duchy Originals, Freeplay Energy, Green&Black's and Mulberry to the prize.

It was judged by Wally Olins of Saffron Brand Consultants and Nick Hurrell from M&C Saatchi.

Previous winners include Burberry, Jaguar Cars, Land Rover and Triumph Motorcycles.

Other winners at the Banqueting House ceremony in London, hosted by Stephen Fry, included the Financial Times, the England Cricket Team and Lord Coe.
