New imprint Penguin Life is set to publish a new title by Ruby Wax - A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled.
Wax's title, to be published on 7th January 2016, will mark the launch of the new imprint, supported by a major media, marketing and digital campaign.
Coinciding with the book's launch, Wax will embark on a UK book tour featuring high profile appearances and blanket national print and prime time TV coverage, the publisher said.
Venetia Butterfield, publishing director for Viking and Penguin Life, said: “We are extremely proud to be publishing Ruby Wax at Penguin. In Frazzled Ruby offers a comprehensive and complete guide to mindfulness. Outrageously witty, smart and accessible, Ruby shows people how and why to change for good. With mindfulness advice for relationships, for parents, for children and for teenagers, and a six-week course based on her studies of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy with Mark Williams, A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled is the only guide you need for a healthier, happier life.”
Wax, the Sunday Times number one bestselling author of Sane New World, has an MA in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy from Oxford University and was recently awarded an honorary OBE for her services to mental health.
She said: “Each one of us is born with a brain - the most complex piece of meat on the planet - but no one gave us a manual on how to maintain it. It's like we have a Ferrari on top of our heads but no one gave us the keys. Self-critical thoughts harm us the most but we also have the in-built ability to build a more resilient, more content mind. In my new book Frazzled, I aim to show you how.”
Following publication in January, fans can also expect a brand new theatre show based on Frazzled, where Wax will be taking mindfulness on a UK tour in the spring.
