Peakpublish has acquired the rights to a "meaningful" and "entertaining" book on true stories from inside India's call centres.
Publisher Geraldine Rose bought world rights, excluding India, to BPO-Sutra: True Stories from India’s Call Centres directly from the author Sudhindra Mokhasi.
The book, a collection of stories about call centre life, has previously been published in India and has been on the bestseller list in India since its release in March. It will be published in the UK in spring 2010.
Rose said: "We are very fortunate to have acquired the rights to publish this topical and bestselling title from Sudhindra which provides an insight into the lives behind the call centre workers whilst at the same time being an entertaining read."
Mokhasi said: "This is a very exciting milestone for me and my book. UK is the second largest market for the Indian call centre export industry. This book will provide the callers in UK an inside-out view into a call agents mind and life which in turn will provide a more meaningful perspective for future transactions."
