Pavilion publishing director Katie Cowan is leaving the company in November, it has been announced.
Cowan has led the Pavilion and Collins & Brown imprints for 15 years and the firm said she had "much to be proud of". Pavilion said she was taking a break to travel, returning home in January 2020.
Among her recent acquisitions was the 2019 Fortnum and Mason cookery book of the year Sight, Smell, Touch, Taste Sound by Sybil Kapoor, along with interiors book Mad About the House by Kate Watson-Smyth, the republished The Story of Gardening by Penelope Hobhouse and Ben Lebus’s Mob Kitchen.
Publisher Polly Powell said: “I have worked with Katie throughout our time at Anova/Pavilion and indeed before that at HarperCollins. I am a huge admirer of her professionalism and dedication to the illustrated book business. I hope very much that our paths cross in the future.”
A replacement for her position will be announced in due course. Cowan can be contacted at katiecowan@btinternet.com.
