Pavilion has announced creative director Helen Lewis will be promoted to publisher of the imprint following the departure of Katie Cowan.
Lewis joined Pavilion in October 2017 from her previous creative director role at Quadrille, a job she held for nearly 14 years.
She said: “I am very excited to be taking on the new challenge of publisher of Pavilion. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first two years here and am looking forward to continuing to build on our reputation for both exciting and award-winning acquisitions and innovative design.”
The news comes after current publisher Cowan announced she would be leaving in November to go travelling. Pavilion said it would also make two more appointments to the editorial team soon as part of a “significant restructure”.
M.d. David Graham said: “Helen has been with us for two years and her impact on the company was immediate and extremely positive. She has already been responsible, behind the scenes, for some very significant acquisitions for us, so it seems like a natural step to extend her influence more formally in the publisher role. I look forward to working with her over the coming years as she maintains and burnishes Pavilion’s enviable reputation for innovative and high-quality publishing.”
