HarperCollins is to publish Truly Happy Baby, the first parenting guide from TV presenter Holly Willoughby.
HarperNonFiction publishing director Grace Cheetham acquired world rights in a two-book deal from Rowan Lawton at Furniss Lawton.
In her parenting guide, Willoughby, who has three children, encourages parents to "trust their natural instincts and to care for their children in their own way, confidently and happily." The guide features "helpful" techniques and planners, and "achievable" and practical advice, that Willoughby draws from her own experience.
"Like talking to a trusted and experienced friend, advice from Holly won’t make you feel inadequate or overwhelmed, it will reassure and empower," the publisher said. "With chapters on feeding; sleeping; wellbeing; and looking after you – as well as how to manage going back to work – Truly Happy Baby will see you through the sleepless nights, concerns and worries, to all the magical first moments and more."
Cheetham said: "We’re delighted to become Holly’s publisher. She’s a wonderful mother who has brilliant advice to share. The parenting market is looking for an accessible and nurturing new voice and Holly is absolutely the answer to that. Truly Happy Baby won’t force you to impose strict routines or hard-core techniques but neither will it expect you be fully-made up when you venture out to the park. We’re enormously excited to be launching Holly into this area with a high-impact, multi-channel campaign reaching real mums everywhere."
Willoughby said: "Having had three very different babies myself, I wanted to gather together all the best bits I’ve learnt along the way for how to look after my family, and share them with you."
Willoughby is a television presenter who appears on "This Morning", "Surprise Surprise", "Dancing on Ice", and "Celebrity Juice". She is also the co-author of a series of children’s books with her sister Kelly, called School for Stars (Orion Children's Books).
Truly Happy Baby will be published on 16th June 2016.
