Papillote Press, a UK-based independent publisher that specialises in books about Dominica or by Dominican authors, has struck a rights deal with HarperCollins Children’s US.
Emilia Rhodes, senior editor at HarperCollins Children’s US, has bought the North American rights to Gone to Drift, a middle-grade story by Diana McCauley.
The novel is about a boy who starts searching for his missing grandfather and uncovers an illegal dolphin trade in the process.
US publication is slated for winter 2018.
The deal was negotiated by Margot Edwards at Rights Consultancy, who was acting on behalf of Papillote Press.
