Random House Children's Books imprint Doubleday is to bring out a novelty book based on Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance cycle.
Eragon’s Guide to Alagaesia, to be published worldwide on 3rd November (£17.99), will carry 15 “lavishly illustrated” spreads exploring the landscape and cities of Alagaesia and its many races,
including dragons and elves. The book is being created by Knopf in the US in conjunction with Templar, and “special effects and stunning examples ofpaper engineering” are promised.
Paolini’s Inheritance cycle novels, which include Eragon and Brisingr, have sold more than 22 million copiesworldwide, but this is the first time the material has been used for a book in a different format.
