Pan's 'Bridget Jones for the 21st century'

<p>Rebecca Saunders at Pan Macmillan has paid a five-figure sum for UK and Commonwealth rights exc Canada in two novels by actress Lucy-Anne Holmes.</p><p>The first novel, <em>Spinster&#39;s Quest: 50 Ways to Meet a Lover</em>, is due in February 2009. It will chart the adventures of &quot;a Bridget Jones for the 21st century&quot;, and had its genesis in Holmes&#39; blog cataloguing her real-life love woes. The agent was Rowan Lawton at William Morris. </p>
