Pan Mac signs two from Pemberton
Pan Macmillan publishing director Wayne Brookes has acquired two new historical novels by Margaret Pemberton, whose backlist titles are published under Bello, Pan Macmillan's e-book and POD imprint.
Brookes bought UK and Commonwealth rights in the two novels from Sheila Crowley at Curtis Brown. The first title, A Season of Secrets, will be published in mass market original and e-book in early 2015.
Brookes said: "I've long been an admirer of Margaret's skill as a first class storyteller, and we are all honoured that she will make her new home at Pan Macmillan. A Season of Secrets is a wonderful sweeping epic that explores class, war, relationships and much more."
Editorial director of digital James Long said: "Having a new title by Margaret, published by Pan Macmillan, represents an evolution for Bello. Together, we will build her readership, especially in e-book, and create a platform for the new books."
