Pan Macmillan has signed a further three-book deal with Peter James, author of the Roy Grace thrillers, in a deal conducted via Carole Blake of Blake Friedmann.
The first book in the new contract, Dead Like You, will be published in June 2010, with the second and third following at yearly intervals.
In a separate deal in the US, St Martins Press crime thriller imprint Minotaur has also negotiated a contract for the same three books. James has not been published in the US since Carroll & Graf launched the Roy Grace series in 2005/6.
Pan Macmillan said that it and Minotaur would work closely on a global strategy for the books, including a translatlantic online marketing collaboration. James is also published by Holtzbrinck publisher Scherz in Germany.
M.d. Anthony Forbes Watson described James as "a jewel in our crown and a treasured friend". He added: "We're utterly delighted to be able to embark on the next phase in a shared strategy, to establish him as an international author at the highest level."
James said agreeing the deal with Minotaur in the US "cements my very happy relationship with the Holtzbrinck group".
His most recent title, Dead Tomorrow, spent five weeks in the UK top 10, a record for the author.
