Palgrave acquires Larry Flynt's take on the presidents' sex lives

<p>Palgrave Macmillan has bought the rights to a book on the sex lives of presidents and politicians co-written by the infamous founder and publisher of <em>Hustler</em> magazine Larry Flynt. Commissioning editor Alessandra Bastagli bought world rights for an undisclosed sum from agent Andrew Stuart.<br /><br /><em>One Nation Under Sex: How the Private Lives of Presidents and First Ladies Shaped America</em> by Larry Flynt and David Eisenbach is due to be published in Spring 2011. The title &quot;promises to reveal how the sexual escapades of political figures shaped the sexual culture of the time and what it tells us about American morality&quot;, the publisher said. <br /><br />Airie Stuart, senior vice president and publisher, added the book would &quot;be both titillating and smart&quot;. </p><p>She said: &quot;We are undoubtedly excited about publishing Larry Flynt and David Eisenbach&#39;s <em>One Nation Under Sex</em> in the Spring<em>.</em> No team is better suited to explore the evolution of American sexual culture, and how defining presidential &#39;romances&#39; have illustrated and shaped our mores.&quot;<br /><br />Flynt is the head of Larry Flynt Publications, which mainly produces sexually graphic videos and magazines.
