The Friday Project publisher and director of digital product development Scott Pack is to become publisher of HarperCollins' community writing site authonomy.com.
Pack will retain his role at TFP, and will be joined at authonomy.com by Rachel Faulker, a former HC graduate trainee, who will take the role of digital project editor.
Group digital director and publisher David Roth-Ey said: "The next stage of development for authonomy.com is to mine still deeper for new writers and to publish more books which is why Scott's publishing and digital experience is a perfect match.
"Authonomy.com has been ground-breaking and hugely successful and there is much untapped potential in the concept so watch this space for more developments."
Plans for authonomy.com include connecting budding writers with published authors after a successful pitch-writing competition with Avon author Claudia Carroll.
Pack said: “Authonomy.com is already a wonderful writing community and, having spoken at some recent workshops, I know that there are lots of great manuscripts doing the rounds on the site. Some of these have gone on to be published but I think there is an opportunity to bring even more of these to market and that is just what we'll be doing in the coming months."
Authonomy.com was launched in 2008 and has lead to the publication of six titles, including Miranda Dickinson's Fairytale of New York. It won the British Book Industry Award for Digital Inovation in 2009.
