The Publishers Association’s Work in Publishing campaign returns from 15th to 19th November, aiming to inspire people to join the sector.
As part of this year's campaign, HarperCollins will be sharing a profile each day on social media of people who have switched industries to work in publishing. There will be five profiles in total of people across the business.
Comma Press will be also hosting a Q&A on its blog. The PA will hold Q&As with people who have moved from other sectors to work in publishing as well as highlighting the range of entry-level resources available on its website.
People can join in with the campaign by sharing why they love to #WorkInPublishing and amplifying careers information that will be shared by the PA, publishers and other partners throughout the week.
Ruth Howells, deputy director of external affairs at the PA, said: “We’re delighted to be running Work in Publishing week again this year. It’s such a pleasure to see people sharing what they love about working in this industry and giving advice to those who are interested in pursuing careers in publishing. There’s a particular focus this year on hearing from people who have joined publishing from another industry.
“As ever, there’s still time to get involved – it’s as easy as sharing any insights or guidance you would have found useful at the outset of your career using the hashtag #WorkInPublishing on Twitter.”
