PA to aggregate publisher data as firms audit lists for diversity

The Publishers Association (PA) is to aggregate publisher statistics on the diversity make-up of their books, after a number of big publishers confirmed that they were now auditing their own lists.

An independent researcher is working with the PA on the project to provide it with an overall picture of diversity in the industry's output. According to the PA, the study aims to “identify any gaps in data and help to inform best practice to encourage industry consistency in how it is collected”.
