Oyelowo named narrator for new Bond novel

Actor and director David Oyelowo has been named as the narrator of the audiobook edition of Anthony Horowitz’s forthcoming James Bond novel, Trigger Mortis (Orion).

Oyelowo is known for roles in theatre, film, radio and television.

This year he received a Golden Globe Best Actor Award nomination for his portrayal of civil rights leader, Martin Luther King, Jr in “Selma”.

Trigger Mortis has been commissioned by Ian Fleming Publications and The Ian Fleming Estate, and includes original material by Bond creator, Ian Fleming.

Oyelowo said: “Anthony Horowitz has crafted a taut thriller with a fascinating cast of characters and stunning action sequences that I am relishing bringing to life. It is an acting challenge as exciting to me as any I have faced on stage or screen. I get to play James Bond. It doesn't get much better than that.”

Horowitz said: “What an honour to have an actor as talented as David to read my take on James Bond. He has a brilliant voice and talent for bringing out the nuances of dialogue and characters. He will do marvels with the audiobook of Trigger Mortis.”

Trigger Mortis will be released in the UK on 8th September.
