Oxford Literary Festival to partner with Financial Times

The Oxford Literary Festival has announced a new partnership with FT Weekend, following the end of its sponsorship deal with the Sunday Times.

In November, it was announced that the Sunday Times would no longer sponsor the festival after nearly ten years, and instead would sponsor the Cheltenham Literary Festival alongside the Times.

Now, FT Weekend, the Saturday edition of the Financial Times, will sponsor the festival, held in Oxford from 22nd-30th March next year.

Oxford Literary Festival director Sally Dunsmore said: "The FT is one of the world's most distinguished and authoritative newspapers and the new partnership with FT Weekend will enable us to extend our reach and introduce our programme to new audiences, both in the UK and around the world."

She added: "The festival has gone from strength to strength over the last few years. Over 150 events are already confirmed for 2014." Authors confirmed to appear include 2013 Man Booker Prize-winner Eleanor Catton, Robert Harris, and Alexander McCall-Smith.
