Oxfam stores thriving

<p>Retailers are taking a battering as consumers rein in their spending, but Oxfam is thriving as cash-strapped shoppers look to charity stores for bargains, reports This is Money.<br /><br />Official figures from the Office for National Statistics this week will show overall retail sales down 0.3% in July, slashing annual growth to 1.7%. But while the big shops are taking a beating, Oxfam&#39;s director of trading, David McCullough, said sales in the year to April were up 7%, with its stores taking a bumper &pound;80m.<br /><br />The charity expects sales to pass &pound;101m next year. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /></p>
