Guardian Faber has bought a book about owls by poet and author Miriam Darlington.
Owl Sense combines personal encounters with the birds with a look at their role in poetry, art and mythology. UK and Commonwealth rights were acquired from Clare Conville at Conville & Walsh by Laura Hassan.
Hassan said: "Owls are completely intriguing; they can turn their heads 270 degrees and see in the dark for starters. I was completely charmed by this proposal and Miriam is an irresistible guide to all things owlish - her eye is bright, her prose is gorgeous."
Darlington has previously written Otter Country (Granta).
Owl Sense is scheduled for publication in 2016.
