Oxford University Press (OUP) Children’s Books has acquired Missing Arabella, the debut novel from US author Kathryn Siebel.
The novel, which is aimed at readers aged 9-12, is said to be written in a style reminiscent of Lemony Snicket and is about twin sisters Henrietta and Arabella, who are nearly identical and yet very, very different.
Clare Whitston, commissioning editor at OUP Children’s Books, acquired the UK and Commonwealth rights from Julia Churchill at A M Heath, who was acting on behalf of Miriam Altshuler at Miriam Altshuler Literary Agency.
“Missing Arabella is a story of adventure, courage, and the unbreakable bond between two sisters,” said Whitston. “A classic tale with a modern spark, readers will love Kathryn’s charming and distinctive voice.”
OUP will publish Missing Arabella in summer 2016.
