Ottakar's looks to Christmas aft

<p>Ottakar's has identified 50,000 sq ft of retail space where it could open new stores next year. The potential for organic growth was highlighted at a briefing announcing the chain's interim results for the 26 weeks to-end 2nd August 2003.

Having increased in size by 33% with the acquisition of 24 Hammicks stores, Ottakar's posted losses before tax of &#163;2.9m, up from &#163;2.3m for the same period in 2002.
