Military history publisher Osprey has set up Digital Rights Management-free digital list aimed at a specialist military history community.
Managing director Richard Sullivan said it was the "next step in creating a comprehensive library for our loyal online community", after rapid digital growth in 2012.
The list launches with six books for 2012 and a further 18 due for release in 2013. The line will bring unavailable titles back to the market, while new material is also being commissioned, including a collection of diary entries from British soldiers in Afghanistan due for 2013. The list launches in June with Will Fowler’s Allies at Dieppe. The e-books will be published under the Osprey Digital imprint.
Emily Holmes is the commissioning editor for the list. She said: "Producing digital-only books lets us get our teeth into aspects of military history which in the past have been largely ignored, and also allows us revive titles which have dropped out of print but which are still much sought-after in the military history community.”
