Nielsen reveals Osman stats as Thursday Murder Club hits top place

Richard Osman's fiction debut The Thursday Murder Club (Viking) has become the bestselling novel of the year after just three months on sale, Nielsen has confirmed.

Nielsen also confirmed that the “Pointless” host's crime caper is the seventh bestselling fiction hardback since records began, behind three Dan Brown titles, two Harry Potters and Paula Hawkins' The Girl on the Train (Black Swan). Osman also becomes the biggest selling debut fiction author ever, excluding those previously published under different names.
