Orion’s immersive events space the Incident Room is returning to Harrogate on 22nd July as part of the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival.
Running in tandem with the festival’s main programme, the line-up includes a UK signing with festival headliner Michael Connelly, panels with former Met Police officer John Sutherland, authors Sharon Bolton and Anna Mazzola, and an event on representation in crime fiction with Mari Hannah, Robin Morgan-Bentley and Winnie M Li.
Launched six years ago at the Old Swan Hotel, it will be once again held in the hotel’s library this year.
Orion will also be working with podcasts Blood Brothers and CrimeTimeFM to provide two Orion-exclusive Incident Room episodes, featuring interviews with authors such as Steve Cavanagh, Joanne Harris, Joe Ide and M J Arlidge.
Orion m.d. Anna Valentine said: “We are so proud of the Incident Room, which since it began six years ago has helped to launch debuts such as Ragdoll by Daniel Cole, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides and Complicit by Winnie M Li and has hosted well-loved and established authors such as Mari Hannah and Ian Rankin.
“The Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival is a highlight in the literary calendar, and we are proud to continue this creative and dynamic collaboration and look forward to welcoming readers to this year’s exciting line-up.”
Clemence Roux, festival manager, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the Orion Incident Room for the sixth year. It’s such a fabulous feeling to bring the festival back to full capacity after an incredibly difficult last two years for our arts charity. However, it seems that the lockdowns reignited passions for a good crime book as we are looking forward to welcoming lots of new faces to this year’s festival.”
Tickets to all physical events are free and will go live at 11 a.m. on 24th June here.
