Orion snaps up Olympian memoir

<p>Susan Lamb and Alan Samson at Orion have bought world rights to three-day event rider Mary King&#39;s autobiography, which will be published in hardback in August 2009.</p><p>King is the latest Olympian to sell her story to the publishing industry. She completed her fifth Olympics in the summer, winning a Team Bronze Medal in Beijing.</p><p>Mary King said: &quot;I have wanted to write my autobiography for a while and having returned successfully from my fifth Olympics, it seems like the perfect time to share my experiences.&quot;</p><p>The 47-year-old first competed at Badminton in 1985, had her first win there on King William in 1992 and her second on Star Appeal in 2000. In 2001 she broke her neck in a fall, but she fully recovered, competing at Burghley in 2002.</p><p>Her career has brought five team gold medals at World and European Championships. She has been British Open Champion four times and has also represented Britain at the last five Olympic Games.</p>
