Orion has bought a book about "Top Gear" by its script editor Richard Porter.
Deputy group publisher Jon Wood acquired world rights to And On That Bombshell from Luigi Bonomi at LBA Literary Agency.
For 13 years, 22 series and 175 shows, Porter was script editor of "Top Gear", from the pilot episode in 2002 until the very last show presented by Jeremy Clarkson with Richard Hammond and James May in 2015.
And On That Bombshell will see Porter providing a “unique insight into how the programmes were made, revealing behind-the-scenes disasters more comical than anything seen on screen, and explaining what it was like to work inside the self-professed 'poky motoring show' that accidentally became a global phenomenon”.
Wood said: “Warm, funny and totally Top Gear, this is the behind-the-scenes story of three men in a shed who changed TV history forever. Richard Porter was there every step of the journey and brings the madcap adventure wonderfully to life. Every one of TG's millions of fans will want a copy this Christmas.”
And On That Bombshell will be published by Orion on 22nd October 2015 in hardback at £20 and e-book at £9.99.
