Orenda Books has signed world English language rights to a debut "deeply moving thriller".
Rights to Epiphany Jones by Michael Grothaus was signed by Orenda's pubisher Karen Sullivan from Maggie Hanbury of the Hanbury Agency.
Described as an "energetic, inventive, gritty and deeply moving thriller cum dark comedy", Ephiphany Jones addresses the challenging subject of sex trafficking in a powerful narrative driven by exceptionally well-drawn, unforgettable protagonists.
Sullivan said: "I am honoured and delighted to be publishing Michael Grothaus’s fabulous novel Epiphany Jones. A complex thriller, riddled with twists, turns and genuine shocks, and a compelling, issue-driven plotline, it is also a superb dark comedy that exhibits a mastery of black humour and satire, with a powerful emotional core. Inspired by the author’s own experiences in Hollywood and Cannes, Epiphany Jones is the work of an undeniable new talent. This book, quite simply, blew me away."
Grothaus added: "I'm very excited to be publishing my debut novel with Orenda Books and to be working with Karen, who is clearly one of the most driven and enthusiastic publishers in the industry."
