Orange spins off new first fiction prize

<p>The Orange Prize for Fiction is to launch a new spin-off prize for debut fiction.

The Orange Award for New Writers will be worth &#163;10,000, and will be open to any first work of fiction by a woman of any nationality and published in the UK in the preceding year. Books can be entered for both the new award and the main Orange Prize. The prize money is intended to help the winning author pursue their writing career, and the emphasis in judging will be on authors' future potential.
