US e-book publisher Open Road has appointed Paul Slavin as president.
Slavin, who has served as executive v.p. and c.o.o. for digital media company Everyday Health, will be responsible for “expanding the foundation and promise” of Open Road.
He will oversee day-to-day operations including sales, marketing, finance, technology, and distribution, and “is charged with efficiently and effectively managing the organisation to maintain its high-growth trajectory”.
Slavin will report directly to Open Road co-founder and c.e.o. Jane Friedman.
Friedman said: “I’m delighted to welcome Paul to our growing enterprise. I am certain that his deep and diverse background in audience building and his strategic skills to drive revenue will expand our reach and complement, amplify, and further define Open Road’s mission. His experience will no doubt enrich our company.”
Prior to Everyday Health, Slavin spent 33 years at ABC News where, as senior v.p., news media, he was responsible for all of ABC News’ digital content, mobile, and broadband communications.
