Octopus has revealed the full programme for its inaugural food and drink festival, Cookbook Confidential.
The event, announced in May, will take place at the Southbank Centre on Saturday 5th September in partnership with Foyles, which is the official bookseller for the festival.
There will be a range of events including discussions, workshops, demonstrations and tastings from a variety of Octopus’ leading cookery writers. The programme includes a demonstration by "The Great British Bake-Off" semi-finalist Chetna Makan, who Octopus announced as a new addition to their list at the end of May. Other demonstrations will include patissier Eric Lanlard and Persiana author Sabrina Ghayour.
Octopus has included events focused on food-related careers. A Change of Appetite and A Bird in the Hand author Diana Henry and cookery writer Kay Plunkett-Hogge will discuss how to write a cookbook, and there will also be a panel discussion about how to carve out a career in food featuring chef Jane Baxter, food writer Gizzi Erskine, founder of LEON John Vincent and others.
There will also be the opportunity for tastings including a spirit tasting with writers Joel Harrison and Neil Ridley and a wine tasting with wine critic Janic Robinson.
Tickets will be priced between £10 and £15 and are available direct from the Southbank Centre website, and the full programme is available at the Cookbook Confidential website. Tickets will be available to buy from Friday 3rd July with Southbank members being able to purchase them from 10am today (2nd July).
