Octopus makes waves with By the Sea

Octopus makes waves with By the Sea

Octopus imprint Aster has acquired Dr Deborah Cracknell’s By the Sea

The book will publish in May 2019 at £12.99 in hardback and presents the therapeutic benefits of being in, on and by the water. At the intersection of where well-being meets modern science, it focuses on Environmental Psychology – the study of how the environment makes us feel, think and behave.

Octopus consultant publisher Kate Adams, who acquired world rights all languages direct from the author, commented: "Like so many people, I grew up asking every weekend to be taken to the seaside. There is something very special about the human relationship with the sea and this book feels particularly timely with the growing interest in taking care of the oceans.”

Dr Cracknell said: “I have been fortunate enough to have lived and worked by the sea my whole life and, as such, am fascinated by the close connection we have with the oceans. This fascination has led to a passion to learn more about the myriad relationships we have with the sea and in particular its influence on our health and wellbeing.”
