Nosy Crow has bought two titles by film critic and writer Tom Huddleston.
The first book, Floodworld, is an adventure story for readers aged 10+ about Kara and Joe, who live perilously in a sunken city. When they find a mysterious map, they suddenly find themselves having to fight against gangsters, cops and Mariner pirates, all of whom want the map for themselves.
Head of fiction Kirsty Stansfield bought world rights from Ella Kahn at the Diamond Kahn and Woods Literary Agency. Nosy Crow will publish the novel in February 2019 with an “ambitious” marketing and PR campaign, and will release a sequel in 2020.
“Tom’s written a brilliantly dynamic adventure packed with ideas and heart – it really stays with you long after the last bombshell has been dropped,” said Stansfield. “We’re delighted to be publishing Floodworld.”
Huddleston is the author of three titles in the Star Wars: Adventures in Wild Space series for Egmont, and a Warhammer Adventures series for Games Workshop.
