Nosy Crow launches National Trust titles

Nosy Crow today (29th September) launched a range of children’s books published in partnership with the National Trust.

Nosy Crow m.d. Kate Wilson and National Trust publisher Katie Bond unveiled the list, which will start appearing in January 2016, at The Bookseller Children’s Conference in London.

“I went to see lots of publishers, but it was Nosy Crow that really stood out to me. They are such a dynamic company, and they focus exclusively on children’s books for our target audience – birth to 11¾. Collaborating on our launch list has been huge fun and there’s more to come,” said Bond.

She said sales of children’s books in National Trust shops grew 26% in the financial year 2013-2014, and have increased again in 2015.

The first National Trust/Nosy Crow release will be The Complete Bird Spotter’s Kit, out in January, which includes a child-friendly bird spotter’s guide, a note pad, pencil and pair of binoculars all packaged in a rucksack. Nature, the first in a series of colouring books, is published in the same month, followed by Flowers and Butterflies, Summertime and Christmas in March, June and September 2016, respectively.

March will also see the release of illustrated nature guides for toddlers, including ABC: A Walk in the Countryside, and two non-fiction titles for older children.

In 2017, the partners will release two “faction” titles by Philip Ardagh, illustrated by Jamie Littler, entitled The Secret Diary of a Medieval Page and The Secret Diary of a Victorian Kitchen Maid.
