Public nominations are now open for the hClub100 awards, which look for the most innovative and inspirational people working across publishing and other creative industries.
Nominees will be honoured for their work over 12 months from July 2013, and the final list will be selected be a panel of industry experts and leaders, including The Bookseller’s editor Philip Jones.
Ten people are named as the most influential in 10 categories – advertising, marketing and PR; art and design; broadcast; creative entrepreneurs; fashion; film; gaming and tech; music; publishing and writing; and theatre and performance. A nomination form is available here.
Last year Anna Davis, director of Curtis Brown Creative, a writing school run by Curtis Brown literary agency; author Laura Dockrill; and Anne Perry and Jared Shuring, founders of The Kitschies awards, were among those named in the publishing and writing top 10. The Literary Platform, a consultancy which supports writers in the digital age, was named in the top 10 in the Creative Entrepreneurs category sponsored by the British Council.
In addition to The Bookseller, this year’s media partners include Campaign, Sight&Sound, The Stage, MCV, Creative Review, Music Week, and Broadcast.
The hClub100 awards will be held at the Hospital Club in London’s Covent Garden on 8th October.
The deadline for nominations is Sunday, 29th June. Judges will receive a longlist of around 40 nominations in early July, and will agree on nine winners, with the 10th decided by public vote in September.
The hClub100 is run by the Hospital Club, a members' club for the creative industries.
