Nikki Smith's psychological thriller All in Her Head has been optioned for television by Palma Pictures.
The company's executive producer Trent Walton bought the rights from Luke Speed at Curtis Brown, on behalf of Sophie Lambert at C&W agency.
Smith said: “I am absolutely thrilled that Palma Pictures have chosen to option All In Her Head. I was so impressed by their vision for the book and cannot wait to see Alison and Jack’s story come to life on screen.”
All in Her Head, a "suspenseful page-turner" about new motherhood, was scooped by Orion Fiction last spring, as part of a pre-emptive two-book deal.
Walton said: “We saw that All In Her Head could make the timely and important issue of mental health part of the national conversation.
"The story is brilliantly crafted and for our partners and us it was an exact fit for the kind of contemporary and engaging shows we want to put on TV.”
The thriller is published in hardback today (Thursday 2nd April) by Orion.
